Each day 175,000 people die without Jesus. If each of these people was put in a body bag and the body bags were laid side by side, they would form a line stretching for 40 miles. New church planting strategies are needed to reach these people. The most effective way to reach the unreached peoples of the world is through church planting. Strategies provide an overall blueprint. Strategies not only make clear what needs to be done; they help evaluate how well it was accomplished.
Strategy normally comes in one of two ways:
1) Mission agency staff research, prayer, and planning;
2) Field workers growing in practical knowledge, and concrete experience.
This work is undertaken after nearly twenty years of full-time missionary work in Africa. During those years, many things were learned from those who went before, and many things were learned by trial and error. This work will draw upon years of personal experience and the research from many different mission organizations.
